1 Feb 2007 - Pound a Poem Success!
We are delighted that Alasdair Wright in year five is the regional winner in the ?Pound a Poem? competition and has been selected as one of 64 national semi-finalists!
The competition was launched last year to help raise money for and awareness of childhood cancer. Thousands of children across the nation took part, writing poems about the importance of eating fruit and vegetables.
Alasdair will have his poem published in the Pound a Poem book alongside personalities such as actress and author Maureen Lipman, Konnie Huq from Blue Peter and footballer Robert Pirez! Alasdair has won £100 of books for the year five library and is now in with a chance of winning the top prize of a family holiday to Bardados!
